Every conflict check is written to a permanent log with the date it was run, who ran it, the expert and case it applies to, and the outcome: Cleared, Soft Flag, or Hard Conflict. Soft flags also record who authorized proceeding and why. That record sits on the engagement, so you can show a firm or answer a question on cross with something better than memory.
