What practice management means for a medical expert
A physician, nurse or other medical expert who takes litigation work is running a small professional practice on the side of a clinical career. Cases arrive from attorneys on med mal, personal injury, nursing home and wrongful death matters. Each one carries the same chain of work: intake, a conflict screen, a retainer, a signed agreement, records, review time, a report, perhaps a deposition, and payment.
When that chain lives across an inbox, a spreadsheet, a calendar and a folder of PDFs, two things go wrong. Billable hours leak, and nobody can say with certainty that a conflict check was done before the records were opened. Practice management software for expert witnesses exists to fix both.

Why experts choose ConflictPro
Built inside a working expert firm
Most tools in this space are built by software developers. ConflictPro is built by the people who place the experts, and by the experts who use it.
ConflictPro comes from Med Legal Pro, the medical-legal consulting firm Tracy Liberatore, Esq., PA-Emeritus, founded in 2016. Her team screens and matches medical and nursing experts on med mal, personal injury, nursing home and wrongful death cases for plaintiff, defense and criminal attorneys.
It runs our own caseload every day
Med Legal Pro's cases, experts and engagements live in ConflictPro, with thousands of conflict checks run on real cases.
Our experts use it on live cases
Med Legal Pro's own nurse and physician experts use ConflictPro on live cases, and their feedback shapes what gets built.
Every rule comes from a real conflict
The parent company check, the facility and date overlap, and the side history rules each exist because a conflict like it would have gotten an expert struck.
Why the conflict check belongs at the front of the workflow
A missed conflict found in week three of a thirty day turnaround costs the engagement and puts the retaining attorney's deadline at risk. A conflict raised by opposing counsel at deposition costs more: your credibility, and possibly your place on the case. Time tracking cannot prevent either one.
ConflictPro runs the check automatically when an engagement is created and again whenever party names change. It compares the new case against your case history, your employers and affiliations, the facilities you worked at and when, and the companies that own those facilities. The result is Cleared, Soft Flag, or Hard Conflict, written to a permanent log with the date, who ran it, and why. Read more on the conflict check software page.
What ConflictPro covers
- Intake and conflict checks. Every engagement screened before review starts, with a dated, attributable clearance record you can show a firm.
- Cases and engagements. Parties, retaining attorney, opposing counsel, deadlines, status and documents on one case record.
- Contracts and e-signature. Send expert agreements for signature and see which are pending or signed without leaving the case.
- Retainers. Track what has been received against what was requested, case by case.
- Time clock and expenses. Start and stop a timer from the ConflictPro phone app or your desktop, at the right rate tier, and log expenses against the case.
- Billing tracking. Unbilled time and expenses roll up per case so nothing is forgotten when it is time to bill.
- Calendar. Deadlines, depositions and trial dates in one view.
- Expert portal for firms. Medical-legal consulting firms give each expert a login that shows only their own cases.
What it does not do
ConflictPro does not send invoices to attorneys on your behalf, and it does not replace QuickBooks. Keep your books and attorney invoicing where they are. ConflictPro tracks the time, expenses and billing status that feed them, and for firms it produces expert-payable invoices. A direct QuickBooks pull into the ProfitPulse add-on is still being built, and we would rather say so than let you find out later.
Solo expert or consulting firm
An independent expert uses ConflictPro to screen new cases against their own history and keep their practice in one place. A medical-legal consulting or legal nurse consulting firm uses it to manage a roster of experts, match them to cases, and screen every placement. If you run a firm, the expert witness CRM page covers the firm side in more detail.

Frequently asked questions
What is practice management software for expert witnesses?
+
It is software that keeps an expert's litigation work in one place: intake, conflict screening, case details, agreements, retainers, time, expenses and billing status. ConflictPro is built for medical experts and medical-legal consulting firms and leads with a real conflict check at intake.
Does ConflictPro replace QuickBooks?
+
No. ConflictPro tracks time, expenses and billing status, and firms can produce expert-payable invoices. Your books and attorney invoicing stay in QuickBooks. ConflictPro does not invoice attorneys for you.
Can I log time from my phone?
+
Yes. The ConflictPro phone app lets you start and stop a timer at the right rate tier, and unbilled time rolls up on the case.
Which case types does it handle?
+
Any case an expert is retained on. Our own firm uses it every day for med mal, personal injury, nursing home and wrongful death matters, for both plaintiff and defense counsel.
How much does it cost?
+
Beta pricing is $49 a month for Solo (up to 10 experts), $149 for Small Firm (up to 50 experts) and $249 for Full Firm (unlimited experts), locked for life. Each plan starts with a 14-day free trial and no credit card.
